This is a short course taught by Prof. Dr. Jean Braun (GFZ-Uni Potsdam). This course is organized in the scope of the StRATEGy program.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
During this short course, we will first cover a few theoretical aspects of heat transport in the crust that are relevant to the interpretation of thermochronological data. These will include the effect of heat advection by rock exhumation, of a finite amplitude, time-varying topography, and motion along faults. We will then use Pecube to illustrate these concepts through a series of examples based on real thermochronological observations. Course notes, reading material, and the software Pecube will be provided to the students. In the following link, you can find a reading database about Pecube: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/x6l5vogs2fyyhsm/AAAGQled9eu6OXpKy9nHjCula?dl=0.

PARTICIPANTS:
The course is aimed at people interested in thermochronology and thermo-kinematic modelling. The maximum number of participants is limited to 20 students. It will take place in the room: 2.27.2.36
Registration is free of charge. Deadline for registration: November 7th
