The international symposium for earth system research took place in Halle (Saale) on the 250th anniversary of Alexander von Humboldt. The National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina together with the GeoUnion Alfred-Wegener-Foundation and the Institute of Geosciences from the University of Potsdam organised an international symposium with the theme "From Humboldt into the Anthropocene".

This was a very motivating event for our students as well as a great opportunity to get in touch with the most cutting-edge research in Europe.

For the 2nd status report seminar of the 2nd generation of "StRATEGy" PhD-students, the whole team and some invited Argentine partners came together to Halle (Saale).The PhD students presented their latest updates within the four program work packages and informed about the progress of their individual projects by giving 12+3 minutes talks.
