Guest talks at CITEDEF

"StRATEGy" PhD students Julia Pommerencke and Melanie Lorenz gave guest talks and discussed their projects with GIS experts and scientists at the Instituto de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas para la Defensa (CITEDEF). Both focused their talks on geoprocessing and the development of block glaciars under a changing climate.

Recently, CITEDEF is working on interactive web-based maps and risk assessments. For example, they have developed a map simulating the front of thunder storms on a minute-by-minute basis. As yet this map is internally used and applicable and not open to the public.
